Today, I’m honored to be hosted on the Conquering Writer’s Block & Summoning Inspiration blog tour by Lindsay Scott. Be sure to stop by her blog to read the guest post “Angst and Creativity.” Below is a sneak peek:
The whole idea of angst and creativity looks romantic in the movies. But the real-life version can sometimes seem as if it includes a whole lot more suffering than art. I’ll venture that anyone who’s ever tried to write anything more than a pun has spent their fair share of time wandering around, hands clenched in their hair, eyes wild and bloodshot, muttering to themselves, and generally looking:
b) insane
c) undead
(Take your pick.)
When asked why we write, we’re usually quick to respond with an answer along the lines of “because I love it.” But sometimes it’s hard to figure out how we can love something that can make us so
miserable.

“But the real-life version can sometimes seem as if it includes a whole lot more suffering than art.”
So true… Thanks. K.M.
As least we’re fulfilling the romantic ideal, right? 😉
Thanks for the sneak peek. Who says puns don’t take a bit of hair pulling? Either mine or someone else’s.
This was a fabulous and timely post! Definitely worth the read. And now I’m curious about your CD.
p.s. Your blog is lovely! 🙂
@Bonnie: Good puns are hard to come by, so you can imagine how much work they require!
@Katrina: Thanks for stopping by! I’m so glad you enjoyed the post.
