Will the links in the Workbook referring to the pages in the Outline book work directly inside the bundle book (instead of pointing to Even though I do have both ebooks already it would help if one could navigate from the workbook to the theory part in the Outline book. That would be worth the € 6,26.

No, unfortunately, there are no interior links, although each section in the Workbook indicates the pertinent section in the main book, so you can use the TOC to navigate back and forth.

  3. Done!

Wish had purchased the set beforehand, but I do have multiple formats. Wrote a review for Outlining and I’ll write one for Structuring later.

    Dear K. M Weiland,

You are truly inspiring to me! My inspiration!
In November, I, for the first time, had just found out about the NaNoWriMo contest (where have I been all these years?) and I actually sat down, with No Plot (big problem), and just wrote.
    It was AMAZING!
And to top it all off, I wrote over 53,000 words in LESS than 30 days because I actually started it on the 3rd of the month and then crunched in all the writing time I could find before the end of the 30. I took a three-hour block of time when my son was at a birthday party and I spat out a whopping 4,000 words! It was incredible. I felt like I was in another world, although I had just sat at the local Borders and people-watched.

It was afterwards that I saw your interview on SpreeCast with Book Trib that explained your books Outlining your Novel and Structuring your Novel, and about your new book at the time. I loved what I heard about it, as well as your blog that helps new writers, so much, that I decided to buy your books and start to outline and structure my NaNoWriMo novel and try to get it published.
Thank you for your wonderful work, wisdom, and tips for writing. You are blessed with a gift.

Welcome, Leslie! Your NaNo experience sounds awesome! Those feelings are why we’re all doing this. 🙂 Great to hear you enjoyed the Spreecast! I hope you find the books useful as well. Feel free to email me if you run into any questions along the way.

  5. What is the primary difference between Outlining Your Novel and Structuring Your Novel? Which would you recommend someone starting from scratch begin with? Thank you!

    • K.M. Weiland | @KMWeiland says

Outlining Your Novel is more about brainstorming and organizing ideas. It covers broader story principles like discovering your characters and setting and figuring out your plot.

Structuring Your Novel is about the nitty-gritty of story, scene, and sentence structure.

If you plan to read both eventually, I recommend starting with Outlining, since it’s more foundational. But if you’re only going to read one, I recommend Structuring, since its principles are ultimately more crucial to successful storytelling.
